PRIMROSE Hospice, which supports people in Redditch, Bromsgrove and surrounding areas, is aiming to raise £100,000 to pay for 80 days of care through its BIG Appeal.

So far nearly £40,000 has been raised, which equates to 32 days of care.

Helen Garfield, chief executive officer said: "We have been delighted that local people have been supporting our BIG Appeal in so many different ways but we still need more help. Our services are hugely in demand and we are trying to raise enough money to pay for 80 days of care. So far we have raised about £40,000 which will pay for 32 days so we still need to raise more money to pay for the remaining 48 days of care.

"People come to the Hospice with a variety of conditions including cancer, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease etc. We are here for our patients and their families no matter what the diagnosis and our services are free. We all know someone in our community who has been affected by a life limiting illness and it is vital that as a charity we are able to support all the people who need our help.

"The only way we can do this is if local people continue to get behind our BIG Appeal and I would ask everyone who reads this to consider how they can help. We all hope we never need the services of the local hospice but if you do need us you want to know we will be here for you."

People can donate by sending a cheque made payable to Primrose Hospice, along with the donor's name and address, to BIG Appeal, Primrose Hospice, St. Godwalds Road, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire B60 3BW

Cash donations can be made at the hospice itself or one of its six shops.
