A REDDITCH-based charity is celebrating after receiving a £4,000 grant from the borough council.
Carers Careline, located in the Ecumenical Centre in Evesham Walk, provide telephone support to unpaid carers in the town.
The support service is largely run by volunteers who work to stay in regular contact with the registered carers.
A Redditch Borough Council spokesman said: “Redditch boasts a lot of groups, organisations and individuals, often voluntary, which make a difference to our Borough and its residents.
“The council helps many organisations through our grants scheme and the Carers Careline is just one of these.”
The organisation offers a range of assistance including a drop in facility, day trips, meals out, a counselling service, training on specific illnesses and conditions and a bereavement support service.
The self-funding organisation is supported at by the Big Lottery Fund, Redditch Borough Council and other trusts.
A drop in facility operates Monday to Thursday from 10am to noon.
