THE former Redditch and Bromsgrove MPs recently visited students at St Augustine's High School.

Conservative parliamentary candidate for Redditch Karen Lumley invited Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport and Minister for Equalities, and Bromsgrove's prospective Conservative parliamentary candidate, to come to the school and talk to pupils about life as a minister.

Among the questions put to Mr Javid was "when will you become the first Asian Prime Minister?".

A light-hearted Mr Javid managed to avoid directly answering the question and when pressed for an answer by staff he said he was there to only take questions from students.

Both Mrs Lumley and Mr Javid have been members of parliament for the last five years and are hoping to defend their seats at this Thursday's general election.
