FAN of Last Night of the Proms but don't want to travel to London to enjoy it?

Studley residents are being offered the chance to soak up the atmosphere and fun in Studley Village Hall - via a satellite link with The Albert Hall.

In order to help the event, hosted by Studley Daytime WI, go with a swing, flags and streamers will be provided but people are being encouraged to dress up and bring their own.

A spokesman from the WI said: "We shall also supply song sheets, so everyone can join in with the singing to their heart's content.

"What's more, our concert-goers will enjoy a traditional fish and chip supper, followed by a delicious dessert and tea or coffee during the interval, all included in the cost of their ticket - which remains at the same price as last year.

"They need to bring along their tipple of choice and a suitable glass to drink from."

She added: "Of course, red, white and blue are the colour themes for the evening and we would love our audience to come along dressed for the occasion - either formally or informally - with interesting headwear, scarves, or costumes.

"This is always a really entertaining event (so much more fun than just sitting in front of the television at home), with an audience of like-minded music lovers as well as those who just enjoy the madness that is traditionally such a large part of the Last Night of the Proms. So come along and join us."

The event is on Saturday, September 12, from 6.50pm with the performance beginning at 7.15pm.
