MORE than 25 employers are expected to turn out for a jobs fair hosted by Redditch MP Karen Lumley on Friday, May 13.

The MP is holding her third recruitment event in Worcester Square inside the Kingfisher Centre between 10am and 2pm.

The event will see businesses, training organisations and uniformed groups offering advice and job opportunities.

Mrs Lumley said: "I am now getting really excited about the Jobs Fair. As MP for Redditch I see it as one of my key responsibilities to help local people secure employment, as well as to help businesses and organisations secure the staff they need.

"Of course the jobs market has changed significantly over the last six years since I became at MP - unemployment has fallen by over 60 per cent for starters - but because businesses are expanding, there are plenty of employment opportunities out there, and the idea of the jobs fair is to bring as many of them as possible under one roof, making it easier for job hunters to look and compare what's on offer.

"All of these organisations and more will be happy to talk to anyone about the job opportunities they have on offer, so if you, or anyone you know about, are searching for your first job or even looking for a change, why not come along and have a look? I'll be there on the day also and we'll all be delighted to see you."

Companies signed up for the jobs fair so far include Jobcentre Plus Redditch, Army Reserves, Army Careers Worcester, Royal Navy, West Mercia Police, Diamond Buses, London Midland Railway, McDonald's and KFC in Redditch and the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, The Abbey Hotel and Golf Club, Bullivant Media and Oakland International.

Mrs Lumley has so far hosted two Jobs Fairs in Redditch – one in 2012 and one in 2013 – both of which were extremely successful and high profile events.
