A NEW general manager has been appointed at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, Redditch.

Former Worcester BID manager, Adrian Field has taken over the role from Ken Williams who managed the shopping centre since 2012.

Adrian started his career in retail at Russell & Dorrell, an independent department store in Worcester before working at the Chamber of Commerce for Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Following job roles in Malvern and Warwick, Adrian’s next position took him back to his hometown where he formed the Worcester Business Improvement District (BID) in 2010 and was able to successfully take it through renewal five years later.

For the last six years, Adrian has headed up the UK’s fifth largest BID known as FOR Cardiff.

Adrian said: “I am delighted to join the team at Kingfisher Shopping Centre and to have the opportunity to work back in Worcestershire, where I hope to make a positive difference to both the town and the businesses within the centre itself.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with all our tenants and identifying ways to further assist them by building on the work already done by the current team.

“I’ll also be working closely with the management team to identify new opportunities to add to our retail and food and beverage offering.

Mr Field added: “Going forward, the opportunity to enhance our green credentials through various initiatives is an area which I think is particularly important.

“Additionally, I’m keen to continue the work that Kingfisher does in supporting the local community be it charity fundraising, events or utilising our space – it’s important to both me and the team that we build on these relationships and ensure that the people of Redditch know that it is a priority for us.”
