AROUND 1000 people joined in with fun and entertainment as Redditch made history with its first Pride event.

LGBTQ Support Services, which organised the event, which was held on Saturday, June 3 say it was a ‘huge success’.

A parade made its way from the Town Hall at 11am walking through the Kingfisher Centre and then onto Church Green where there was a stage with live acts performing music, comedy, and speeches.

There was community and business stalls in and around Church Green for visitors to shop and find information as well as hot and cold food stalls leading down to the Canopies and local businesses had Pride themed events and products in their shops.
