AN Alcester care home staff member has been selected for a place in the Great North Run.
Greg Wilk, head of maintenance at Cherry Trees Care Home will be raising money for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
Greg, who has worked at the home for more than ten years, is running to work to and from work every day as part of his training.
Debbie Osborne, general manager at Cherry Trees said: “Everyone at Cherry Trees was keen to show Greg support on his adventure, especially the residents who enjoy hearing all about his training.
“Barchester’s Charitable Foundation is a great cause that helps many people in need.”
Cherry Trees Care Home is run by Barchester Healthcare and its charitable foundation supports older people and other adults living with disability or mental health problems.
The Great North Run is the largest half marathon in the world and will take place on September 10.
