A GRADE II listed cottage in Alcester which was damaged by fire is set to go under the hammer.

Talbot Cottage, in High Street, is a semi-detached property, which is adjoined to the Three Tuns pub.

It has pedestrian access from the High Street and rear access via a car park area at the back of the Bear Pub. There is also a large garden at the back.

Although it sustained significant fire damage following a fire that took hold of the Three Tuns in 2021, it has listed building consent approval for reinstatement works after the fire damage and for the establishment of a three-bed property.

With a guide price of £85,000, the property will be featured in the Sheldon Bosley Knight (SBK) sale at Stratford-upon-Avon Town Hall on Wednesday, November 29.

SBK’s auctioneer Matt Burrows said: “This is a very exciting lot. It represents a unique opportunity for the much-needed restoration of the property which extends across two storeys and includes a sizeable garden at the back.

“Although in need of complete renovation following the fire damage it sustained, and subject to the appropriate planning permission and listed building consent, it would make a lovely family home. It has already gained a lot of interest so it is one not to be missed.”
