A WOMAN has died and two men have been taken to hospital following a crash in Redditch yesterday.

The three-car crash happened on Bordesley Lane at 2.44pm with Alvechurch Highway also closed.

The woman was in critical condition when medics arrived and sadly despite their efforts she could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.

One man was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries and another man suffered injuries not believed to be serious.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent four ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham to the scene.

A spokesman said: “On arrival crews discovered a woman in a critical condition.

“Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts it became apparent nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed dead at the scene.

“A man was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by land ambulance.

“A second man, who was found nearby, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, also by land ambulance.”
