ANDREW Robinson has his sights on winning a title after being handed the chance to win the Midlands Area super middleweight belt.

The 30-year-old from Redditch will take on Derbyshire puncher Prince Davis for the title on Saturday, June 6 at Wolverhampton Civic.

Robinson, nicknamed D’Animal, is keen to add to the Midlands titles he won as an amateur.

The fighter’s last shot at a title was against Frank Buglioni for the WBO European title and while he lost on points, an impressive performance only enhanced his reputation.

He said: “For me, this is the most important fight of my life.

“I won Midlands titles as an amateur, so to do the same as a professional would mean an awful lot to me.

“To be honest, this fight means more to me than the Buglioni bout.

“If I was to win the Midlands title it would be the ultimate and anything on top of that would be a bonus.

“I am already working harder than ever before. I’ve been training in Dudley but I will also be preparing in Bristol and Wales.”

Robinson, who boasts just one defeat in 15 professional encounters, takes on an opponent from Ilkeston who has won ten of his 14 fights.

He added: “Wolverhampton is my patch, I have fought there six times and I would love to win a belt there in front of a home crowd.”

Victory over Davis, would further enhance Robinson’s reputation and propel him onto bigger things.

Last year, he won the British Masters Bronze super-middleweight title.
