TONY More starred for Alcester Nomads in the win over Swan in the Studley League.

More, a new recruit to skittles, made 53 to record the league’s highest individual score this season and help his team to a maximum points win, as they showed no mercy to opponents playing with two men short.

Even on discounted scores, Nomads were 18 pins ahead after two legs and won the game by a massive 67 pins as Bob Browning helped himself to 39 pins and Eddie Upright 38.

Engineers matched Nomads points win to retain top spot as they comfortably saw off bottom team Swingers.

This was another game ending in a big winning margin, with Engineers’ Ian Greenway making 39 and Phil Jones, Dave Green and Bert Clewlow bagging 36 each.

Third-placed Maudslay lost ground on the leaders when producing, unusually for them, a poor team total.

It let in Chris and Gerry Show to pinch three of the five legs to stay in fifth place.

By sharing the third leg, Team BG denied Jumbo Jet Set maximum points, but were otherwise always off the pace when producing their season’s lowest team total.

It was their third straight loss, while it was Jumbo's third win on the trot.

After three straight wins, it’s now three losses on the bounce for Lodge Farmers, who lost to Alley Cats.

Malcolm Batchelor (43) recorded the Cats’ highest individual total this season.

Results: Alcester Nomads 10pts (344 pins: 10 players & 308 pins: 8 players) – Swan 1pt (241 pins: 8 players); Swingers 1pt (290) – Engineers 10pts (346); Maudslay 7pts (317) – Chris & Gerry Show 4pts (312); Team BG 1.5pts (277) – Jumbo Jet Set 9.5pts (321); Lodge Farmers 3pts (309) – Alley Cats 8pts (320).
