STUDLEY made a losing start to the Warwickshire League Premier as they went down by five wickets at home to Rugby last Saturday.
The Bees were put into bat and made a strong start as they made 85-1 halfway through their overs.
But they lost wickets cheaply with Brandon Miller (65) and Jack Williams (30) getting most of the runs as Studley posted 160-9 off 45 overs.
In reply, Rugby hit 161-5 from 33.2 overs, with Henry Wilkins (50), Henry Parker (55) and Charlies Robards (43) top scoring for the visitors.
Andy Rhodes took 3-32, while Luke Deeprose (1-64) and Williams (1-10) took one each.
Captain Steve Rose said: “We looked rusty to be fair because we hadn’t been able to play any warm-up games because of the rain.
“We lost the toss and it wasn’t the best wicket to bat on but we had started well.
“But once we lost one batsman we lost them all quickly.”
