CAPTAIN Steve Rose believes that the Warwickshire County League Division One holds no fear for newly-promoted Studley after they bagged their first win of the season.

Studley saw off Bablake Old Boys by seven wickets in fine style at home.

The hosts lost the toss and were asked to bowl first but Andy Rhodes did a fine job when taking 4-15 in 12 overs.

Luke Deeprose also took a vital hat-trick as Bablake were dismissed for 132.

Rose (42) and Jack Williams (59no) produced a 90 run second wicket partnership as Studley made 136-3 in reply.

It was the perfect response to last weekend's abandoned clash against Kings Heath, when the Bees had looked on course for victory.

Captain Rose said: "This wasn't our best display of the season, our fielding was not great and the bowlers got us out of trouble.

"Luke Deeprose's hat-trick came at the right time, it meant we has bowled them out for a low total and Jack and I were able to put on a good partnership.

"We've played three games so far and I don't think we've got anything to fear about this division."

Studley face a tough test at leaders Bedworth on Saturday (1pm start).
